Truffle Fest!

We always like to come up with a little something that’s unique, fun, and creative whenever we go to a festival or market, and the Oregon Truffle Festival is no different. It allows us to play with some of our more experimental epicurean tendencies, which is a cool departure from our normal schedule. This time around we’re going to be making pithiviers — a puff pastry usually filled with almond paste, except this occasion we’re going to make a savory sweet potato, mushroom, and leek filling. I can’t wait to see how well these pair with some of the delicious wines that will be sampled at this year’s event! Bleu Cheese and walnut chocolate truffles will also provide an unique journey of flavor. Try this tasty treat with a bold cabernet, merlot, or pinot! For a fun, culinary adventure, check out our table at the festival Sunday, Jan. 22 in the Newberg Cultural Center. We hope to see you there!

The new menu for this week should be updated live online as of Tuesday. You will be able to find it on Google, Yahoo, Yelp, or even on our Facebook page! With the Truffle Festival being on Sunday, this week’s menu will showcase many items that we’ll be featuring at the festival. So, if you don’t want to purchase a ticket to the event just to try our deliciousness, feel free to swing by anytime this week as we’re sure to have some specialties. These are items we’re only offering this week, however, so don’t miss out. Come in, try something new, and let us know what you think of it.
