Increased Product and Availability (promising and optimistic)

It has been a long journey…

Who knew starting a bakery on a limited budget; in a struggling economy; within a kitchen that hasn’t been used for years; that was tucked away in the convenience store of a gas station near the city limits; next to another business that shared a similar name to ours; while having no significant marketing presence; would be so challenging? Even though it makes me laugh a little to write that, I am sighing as well because it is an exhausting truth! Anyhow, things are looking a little more promising and we are hopeful that we will be able to hire on a staff that will allow us to increase what we are able to offer.

<–See, proof that we are doing more. Actually we have been doing a lot more. Initially we were a cookie bakery hoping to turn cookies into the next cupcake craze. However, we expanded our services as the community where we had nestled (not Nestle, which is a French chocolate candy company) required more. Aside from the cheesecakes you see to the left on your screen, we also make cupcakes, eclairs, brownies and breads. We are still a small, family owned and operated bakery, so our product isn’t available daily, but rather on a rotating schedule. But we are optimistic that if people like our loaf breads, or the sandwiches we make with them in the deli portion of our bakery, or if our pies begin to sell out, we will be able to increase the size of our staff and increase the availability of these items to everyone.

We make wheat-free brownies, biscuits, cupcakes, cakes, pies and eclairs as well as breads. Our Breads page will highlight that and also show what we are working on so you know what to expect in the future. As I’ve heard time and time again from other business owners, ‘there’s never enough time in the day’ and that seems to be true for us as well. While we are working on making different scones and muffins for our store, we are also updating our online presence and attempting to market more. We have goals to be more active in our community, to make product that caters to a greater percentage of dietary concerns and/or needs, while maintaining the promise we’ve already made to consistently carry cinnamon rolls, wheat-free cinnamon rolls, cookies, wheat-free cookies and soft pretzels both salted and not.

So, for those that have been with us since the beginning and have watched us grow, thank you! To those just discovering us, I hope you enjoy and appreciate what we can offer. If we were sitting at a table with drinks in our hands I would raise mine and toast, “Here’s to a promising future! I can’t wait to see where we go from here!” And I would mean that for everyone that’s sitting at the table because I can’t help but feel somewhat optimistic that the really challenging times of the previous 2…3…4…8 or more years are coming to an end!

p.s. – Since I used the words promising and/or optimistic in just about every paragraph I wrote (including this one), I decided to add those keywords to the title. Because, if you’re going to go all gooey and out-of-touch you might as well stay consistent with it, right? Okay, that’s the end of this blog post… Well, actually this is the end. I promise. End.

We are just opening up a new computer store in Newberg and also have a store in Woodburn and will be having cookies and coffee for various occasions. Can you get me pricing on cookies for around 5 dozen per event?

    Thank you.
